Data Export & Offboarding

Version 1.0 Effective: 21 July 2026 Last updated: 21 July 2026

This page describes what data can be exported from the AB-Labz platform, in what format, and the process when a license expires or is terminated.

1. What Can Be Exported

The platform provides a JSON export of all Workspace results. The export includes:

  • Experiment configurations (hypotheses, parameters, metrics, groups)
  • Aggregated analysis results (statistical outputs, p-values, effect sizes, confidence intervals)
  • AI-generated insights and conclusions associated with each experiment
  • Experiment metadata (creation date, status, notes, tags)

What Is NOT Included in the Export

  • Raw Experiment Data (CSV / API datasets) — these are ephemeral and deleted before or shortly after analysis. They are not retained in the Workspace and cannot be exported.
  • Runner data — Runner data never leaves the Customer's own infrastructure. Export is the Customer's responsibility.

2. Export Format

Workspace data is exported as a structured JSON file. The JSON format is self-describing and can be processed by any JSON-compatible tooling.

The export schema is documented in the AB-Labz Documentation. AB-Labz may update the schema; the version included in the export indicates the schema version used.

3. How to Export

Export is available from within the Workspace interface during an active License Period:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Export within the Workspace.
  2. Select the experiments or the entire Workspace to export.
  3. Download the generated JSON file.

Export is also available during the 30-day read-only period after license expiry. After this period, export is no longer possible.

4. License Expiry and Offboarding

The following timeline applies when a License Period ends without renewal:

1
License Period ends
Active access to the platform ceases. No new analyses can be run.
2
30-day read-only window begins
The Workspace switches to read-only mode. Existing data can be viewed and exported, but no new analysis or modifications are allowed.
3
Day 30 — Workspace permanently deleted
The Workspace and all its contents are permanently deleted from active systems. This action cannot be undone. Backup copies are purged within the subsequent 30-day backup cycle.

Export before the 30-day window closes.

After the 30-day read-only period, Workspace data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. AB-Labz recommends exporting before or immediately after license expiry.

5. Runner Offboarding

For customers using the Corporate Self-hosted tier, all Experiment Data processed by Runner remains within the Customer's own infrastructure. Offboarding Runner involves removing the Runner software from the Customer's systems. The Workspace on AB-Labz infrastructure contains only analysis results and configurations, which follow the same export and deletion timeline as Corporate Basic.

6. Renewing Before Expiry

Customers who renew their license before expiry (by activating a new license key) do not experience any interruption. The Workspace continues without entering the read-only window. New keys must be activated before the current License Period ends to avoid any access interruption.
