Data Deletion
This page describes how data is deleted from AB-Labz systems, including automatic deletion timelines, backup purge, and how to request deletion.
1. Automatic Deletion
Most Experiment Data is deleted automatically without any action required:
- CSV uploads are deleted from active storage immediately after the analysis session ends. No CSV file is persisted beyond the session.
- API datasets are automatically deleted 14 days after ingestion. This happens in a scheduled background process; no manual action is required.
- Workspace data is deleted permanently 30 days after license expiry (following the read-only window). This includes experiment configurations, analysis results, and AI-generated insights.
2. Account Deletion
When a user account is deleted:
- Profile data (name, email, settings) is removed from active systems within 30 days.
- Workspace data associated with the account is deleted according to the same schedule as license expiry (30-day read-only window, then deletion).
- Billing records and invoices are retained for 7 years as required by tax law.
- Security logs referencing the account are retained for 12 months.
Account deletion can be initiated from within the platform or by contacting [email protected].
3. What Gets Deleted vs. What Is Retained

4. Backup Purge
Deleting data from active systems does not immediately remove it from encrypted database backups. Backups follow a 30-day rolling retention schedule. Data deleted from active systems will be purged from all backups within 30 days of deletion.
Backup data is encrypted and not accessible during normal platform operations. It is used exclusively for disaster recovery purposes.
5. Requesting Deletion
To request early deletion of specific data (where permitted by law), send a request to [email protected] with:
- Your account email address
- Description of the data you want deleted
- The basis for your deletion request (e.g., GDPR Article 17 right to erasure)
We will respond within 30 days and confirm deletion upon completion. We may request verification of identity before processing the request.
6. Deletion Confirmation
Upon request, AB-Labz will provide written confirmation that data has been deleted from active systems. Confirmation that backup copies have been purged is provided within 35 days of the deletion request (allowing for the 30-day backup cycle).
